KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Members of the Cabinet, including the deputy prime ministers, today shared Mother’s Day greetings and messages of appreciation through their respective social media platforms to honour the sacrifices, love and dedication of mothers.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a Facebook post, called on the public to continue appreciating mothers, whom he described as the backbone of a family’s strength and resilience.
“In her silence lies a prayer that never ceases, and in her exhaustion, a love that never fades. That is the greatness of a mother’s love.
“In conjunction with the 2026 Mother’s Day Celebration today, I would like to record my sincere appreciation for all mothers in Malaysia. You are all extraordinary women...strong and resilient figures who continue to face every challenge for the sake of your children and beloved families,” he said.
He added that a mother’s love serves as a source of strength in building happy families, nurturing successful generations, and shaping a society filled with values and compassion.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof described mothers as extraordinary women who serve as the backbone of families, children’s first educators and an endless source of love.
He said the role of mothers in managing households has become increasingly challenging amid changing economic and social conditions, as well as the demands of raising children in the era of technology and social media.
In facing these challenges, he said the MADANI Government continues to strengthen various initiatives to ensure supply stability and reduce the burden on the people, particularly families and mothers who play a central role in household management.
“The strength of a nation begins with a strong family institution, and at the heart of that strength stands a mother who is resilient, patient and full of love.
“Happy Mother’s Day. May every sacrifice and expression of love always be blessed, appreciated and become an inspiration to children and future generations,” he said in a Facebook post.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil also extended his Mother’s Day greetings, expressing appreciation for the love, sacrifices, and unwavering prayers of mothers.
“May all mothers be blessed with good health, happiness, and continued strength,” he said.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek described mothers as special individuals and heroes of love who bravely and steadfastly endure life’s challenges for the sake of their children and families.
“A mother’s sincere love never changes. Her sacrifices and contributions can never be repaid. Nothing is stronger than a mother’s love. Thank you to all the great women who proudly carry the title of mother,” she said in a Facebook post.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said a mother’s sacrifices are reflected through her endless prayers, unconditional love and willingness to become a pillar of strength in all situations.
“In conjunction with Mother’s Day, let us honour and appreciate those who have sacrificed so much to see their children happy and successful. While there is still time, hug your mother, cherish her and pray for her every day,” he said.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan also extended Mother’s Day greetings to all mothers and women who tirelessly provide unconditional love, strength and sacrifice.
“May every sacrifice you make always be appreciated and blessed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu expressed special appreciation to mothers working as farmers, livestock rearers, fishermen, and agro-food workers across the country.
“Early in the morning, they head to the rice fields, the sea, and plantations to earn a living and ensure food is always on Malaysians’ tables. Their sacrifices are immense and deeply meaningful to the nation.
“Thank you to all mothers who never tire of sacrificing for their families and communities. A mother’s love and devotion are beyond measure and cannot be repaid with anything,” he said.
In a similar message, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi reminded the public not to forget the role of mothers behind every achievement and moment of success.
