KUALA LUMPUR, April 16 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is in the process of drafting the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Action Plan 2026-2030 as a continuation of the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Master Plan 2015-2025.

DBKL executive director (Socio-Economic Development) Ismadi Sakirin said the plan will be developed collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure it delivers significant economic impact to Kuala Lumpur.

He said this in his speech at the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Synergy Networking Session organised by DBKL and the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association (KLTA), which was attended by more than 100 Kuala Lumpur tourism industry players and representatives of agencies here today.

Meanwhile, Ismadi said based on the latest data from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Kuala Lumpur received more than 23 million domestic and international tourists last year, and the figure is expected to increase this year.

“Of the total, 10.3 million were domestic tourists, while 13.4 million were international visitors,” he said.

At the same time, Ismadi said synergy among local authorities, government agencies and industry players is crucial to ensure that every planned tourism initiative can be implemented effectively and with high impact, to enhance Malaysia’s image on the global stage.
