KPKT To Lead PMR 2026 In Perak, Bringing Government Services Closer To The People

PUTRAJAYA, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) will spearhead the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026 in Perak, scheduled to take place from April 3 to 5 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Persiaran Meru, with the state government serving as host.

In a statement today, KPKT said the programme will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on April 4, symbolising the MADANI government’s commitment to engaging directly with the people and enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level.

With the theme “Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities”, the programme will highlight KPKT’s role in promoting sustainable urban development, expanding access to quality housing and fostering inclusive communities.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the ministry is committed to ensuring the three-day event serves as an effective platform for the public to experience and benefit directly from various government initiatives.

He encouraged the public to attend the event to take advantage of the wide range of services and activities offered.

“Visitors can look forward to government services, welfare initiatives, health services, MADANI Rahmah Sales and Agro Sales, job opportunities, local food festivals, entrepreneur showcases and various community programmes,” he said.

Among the highlights are community-focused activities such as helmet exchange programmes, free motorcycle engine oil changes, complimentary haircuts, distribution of seeds and saplings, as well as exhibitions featuring defence and security assets.

In addition, he said, KPKT is also coordinating satellite programmes in Ipoh and Tambun from March 28 to April 3, covering areas such as housing initiatives, community safety, digitalisation of local government services, landscaping programmes and MADANI community activities.

According to him, the organisation of PMR 2026 reflects strong collaboration between the federal and state governments, in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision of inclusive, sustainable and people-centric development.

The programme is also expected to strengthen ties between the government and the public, while increasing awareness of development initiatives, housing opportunities and community programmes at the state level.
