KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 (Bernama) -- Contributors to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) view stable and guaranteed dividend returns as crucial to safeguarding their retirement savings.

Marketing manager Nurain Kamaruddin, 40, said the announcement of a 6.15 per cent dividend for both conventional and syariah savings for 2025 has strengthened her confidence in securing a comfortable retirement.

“I hope the EPF dividend rate will remain above six per cent in the coming years,” she said.

In JOHOR, Media and Digital Communications Manager at Johor Digital Media (MDJ), Aivizanoorwani Shah Shahroni, 43, said EPF continues to provide relatively strong returns and remains a safe long-term investment vehicle for retirement planning.

“To me, it is still encouraging as it remains within the six per cent range, especially considering the current economic landscape,” she said.

In SARAWAK, Brauselt factory safety supervisor Elden Usah, 35, said he was satisfied with the declared rate and regarded EPF as a stable and secure long-term savings instrument compared to riskier investment options.

“Stability of returns is more important than high short-term profits. Consistent annual dividends help ensure that retirement savings continue to grow steadily,” he said.

Meanwhile, in SABAH, electrical technician Jelson Guntalib, 32, described the dividend as competitive and reassuring, particularly for younger contributors focused on long-term savings.

He noted that the rate was significantly higher than the interest offered by most commercial bank fixed deposits.

“I have no plans to make withdrawals. Instead, I want to let the dividends continue compounding to secure my financial stability after retirement,” he said.

In PERLIS, private kindergarten teacher Syafini Halim, 26, described the declared dividend as encouraging, saying it would help contributors steadily grow their retirement savings.

In PENANG, private sector employee Nadzirah Madi, 36, expressed confidence that EPF fund management remains on the right track despite ongoing market uncertainties.

“I hope the EPF continues to adopt a prudent investment strategy capable of delivering consistent returns in the future,” she said.

Sharing a similar view, information technology worker Hisham Aziq, 35, from SELANGOR, said the dividend rate reflects the retirement fund’s resilience amid an uncertain economic landscape, as well as disciplined investment management that prioritises long-term sustainability.

In MELAKA, hardware store worker Nur Amera Fatiha Hamsan, 27, said EPF contributions represent her main form of investment as a minimum wage earner.

She added that the announcement of a 6.15 per cent dividend has strengthened her confidence in the fund’s management.

Meanwhile, in TERENGGANU, private hospital employee Noradibah Suhaila Mohd Ghazali, 37, expressed gratitude that both her and her husband’s retirement savings continue to grow steadily.

“We do not have investments in other instruments, only EPF and Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB). That is all we have for our old age,” she said.

In KELANTAN, private employee Md Firdaus Ab Ghaffar, 35, voiced hope that EPF will maintain consistent investment performance to safeguard contributors’ interests in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, in NEGERI SEMBILAN, private employee Rosmawati Ismail, 45, suggested that the government consider extending dividend payments to the Flexible Account (Account 3), enabling contributors to utilise the funds for urgent needs, particularly in preparation for Aidilfitri.
