Johor Channels RM125 Million Through BKJ During Ramadan - Onn Hafiz

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- The Johor government has allocated RM125 million under the Bantuan Kasih Johor (BKJ) initiative, which will be disbursed to 29 categories of recipients throughout the month of Ramadan.

Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the beneficiaries include single mothers, fishermen, orphans, persons with disabilities, Orang Asli heads of households, security guards, school cleaners, and Quran teachers.

He said that BKJ is implemented under the broader Bantuan Bangsa Johor framework, and reflects the state government’s strategic approach to easing cost-of-living pressures currently faced by the people.

“The assistance is being rolled out in stages, and in a comprehensive manner, covering various segments of society regardless of background, to ensure that the welfare of the people of Johor remains a priority,” he said, in a Facebook post.

Onn Hafiz added that the allocation underscores the state government’s continued commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the rakyat, while ensuring that no one is left out in celebrating the blessed month of Ramadan.

In this regard, his administration would continue to strengthen its welfare agenda in a strategic and high-impact manner to ensure that the benefits are felt widely across all parts of the state.

Onn Hafiz, who is also Machap assemblyman, said 1,000 Bantuan Kasih Johor (BKJ) recipients in Simpang Renggam had received the assistance during the BKJ breaking-of-fast and aid presentation ceremony held yesterday.

According to him, a grassroots-based approach is crucial to ensure that aid is delivered directly, transparently and in a targeted manner to groups that genuinely need assistance.
