16/02/2026 08:47 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysians should continue to uphold and celebrate the nation’s diversity to safeguard a peaceful, united and progressive future, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said.

In his Chinese New Year message, Aaron extended greetings to the Chinese community ahead of the celebration tomorrow, stressing that despite differences in culture, language and religion, Malaysians remain one national family bound by mutual respect and understanding.

“As we usher in the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, perseverance and loyalty, we are reminded that these are the very values needed to build a united and dignified nation.

“Chinese New Year is not merely a change of the calendar, but an opportunity for reflection, gratitude and renewed hope,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He also called on Malaysians to exercise empathy, prudence and courtesy when using social media, noting that every post shared online carries the potential to either strengthen or undermine relationships among citizens.

Meanwhile, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh also conveyed her Chinese New Year greetings.

Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri expressed her hope that this Chinese New Year brings a new dawn for everyone to strengthen unity, instill mutual respect, and bolster family and community ties, which serve as the foundation of the nation's strength.

"Amidst our diverse cultures and traditions, we stand as one large Malaysian family - complementing and supporting each other as we collectively build a more prosperous and peaceful future. May this Year of the Horse bring courage, perseverance, and continued success to us all," she said in a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook wished those still travelling, a safe journey home, and urged the public to appreciate the dedication of frontliners and essential service personnel who continue working throughout the holidays.

“Their dedication makes many reunions possible,” he said, while also wishing everyone a joyful reunion, good health, and happiness in the year ahead.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan shared his hope that this Chinese New Year would bring happiness, health, and abundant blessings to all.

"Let us celebrate with family, friends, and loved ones. May our days be filled with smiles, joy, and cheer," he said in a video shared on Facebook.
