KRABI (Thailand), Jan 25 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, has urged religious institutions to continue upholding a moderate and prudent approach, guided by the values of compassion, in facing today’s increasingly challenging times.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, who is also the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) president, said programmes such as the MAIPs Ziarah Mahabbah Programme to the Andaman region (covering Krabi, Ranong, Phuket, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun) in Southern Thailand should be continued and strengthened.
His Royal Highness said the initiative provides a platform to build understanding, foster tolerance and reinforce Islam’s image as a religion of peace, well-being, and compassion.
“I want to stress that the values and spirit fostered through this Ziarah Mahabbah programme must not stop here. They should be carried forward through sustained follow-up, consistent communication and more structured cooperation.
“True mahabbah (love) brings benefit, strengthens unity and leaves a positive impact on society,” the Raja Muda said when closing the outreach programme, now in its 11th year, at the Adamee Suksa Vittaya School hall today.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra led the outreach programme in Krabi from Jan 23 to today, accompanied by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
Also joining the programme were the board members of MAIPs Asnaf Transformation Academy (ATAM) and MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor.
One of this year’s key programme focuses is sustaining ATAM’s collaboration with entrepreneurs and industry experts in Krabi.
At the closing ceremony, the Perlis Raja Muda and Raja Puan Muda witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent between Mohd Nazim, on behalf of ATAM and three Krabi industry players in goat farming, spa and wellness and community tourism products including batik and handicrafts, to establish a strategic partnership in expertise and training, tourism and culture, entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility initiatives to develop the asnaf community in Perlis.
