Raja Muda of Selangor Presents Graduation Certificates To Tahfiz Graduates

KLANG, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today presented graduation certificates to nine Istana Alam Shah Tahfiz Programme students for the 2021-2025 session in a ceremony held at Istana Alam Shah here.

Tengku Amir Shah arrived at 2.30 pm and was welcomed by the chairman of Masjid Istana Diraja Selangor, Tengku Datuk Putra Tengku Azman Shah, and Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) chairman, Datuk Salehuddin Saidin.

In his address, Tengku Putra said since its establishment in 2011 to date, the tahfiz programme has produced 31 huffaz (Quran memorisers), which he described as a proud achievement.

He said in addition to producing Quran memorisers, the programme has also succeeded in nurturing quality graduates capable of contributing in various key fields, including as doctors, engineers, teachers and imams.

“The tahfiz programme is conducted in a structured manner through a systematic and close cooperation between the Selangor Sultan’s Office, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and the Selangor Zakat Board,” he said.

Through the programme, students attend Quran memorisation classes at Masjid Istana Diraja at night and after the Subuh prayer, while academic studies take place at Maahad Akademik Integrasi Tahfiz Selangor in Alam Impian, Shah Alam.

Meanwhile, student representative Muhamad Hariz Mirza Muhamad Jirza, 18, said tahfiz education is not merely about memorising the Quran, but also about shaping character, strengthening moral values and instilling a sense of responsibility towards religion, the people and the country.

“We are determined to continue preserving our memorisation, enhance our understanding of the Quran and Quranic knowledge, and practise the teachings of the Quran in every aspect of our lives,” he said.
