KUANTAN, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- Pahang Palace today denied claims that the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, has offered cash assistance to the public through social media platforms and WhatsApp.
In a statement posted on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, the palace clarified that the denial was issued following the circulation of messages using the name ‘Tengku Azizah’ or ‘Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah’, which were found to be actively deceiving the public with promises of substantial financial aid while requesting victims’ personal information.
“Pahang Palace stresses that the act constitutes an irresponsible attempt at fraud and could tarnish the image of the royal institution.
“In this regard, the public is advised to remain vigilant, exercise discernment in verifying the authenticity of information, and not be easily duped by false offers disseminated on social media,” the statement read.
Members of the public are also urged to promptly lodge reports with the authorities should they be contacted or receive any suspicious messages purportedly in the name of Her Royal Highness, it added.
