PUTRAJAYA, Jan 5 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will continue to strengthen the national youth and sports agenda through policies and initiatives that prioritise youth well-being, promote a sports culture, and support an inclusive and sustainable sports industry.
In a statement today, KBS said the commitment aligns with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s address at the Prime Minister’s Department's monthly assembly, which stressed stronger governance, integrity among civil servants, a high-performance work culture, as well as efficient and transparent service delivery.
“KBS fully supports the Prime Minister’s emphasis on the empowerment of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key driver of the nation’s human capital development.
“The ministry will continue to enhance the role of youth and sports institutions under KBS in providing skills training, improving employability, and offering TVET-based career pathways that are relevant to industry needs, including in the sports and entrepreneurship sectors,” the statement said.
The ministry also expressed support for the implementation and improvement of targeted government assistance, including the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) cash aid, as measures to ease the cost-of-living burden and safeguard the well-being of low-income youth groups.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all ministry personnel internalise the values of professionalism, accountability and teamwork in line with the MADANI government’s aspirations to build a progressive, resilient and people-centred nation.
“The ministry remains committed to working closely with all agencies, stakeholders, and strategic partners to realise the outlined vision and direction for the benefit of youth, athletes and all Malaysians,” the ministry added.
