KOTA BHARU, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized products worth almost RM4.7 million from enforcement actions in Kelantan throughout this year.
Kelantan KPDN director Azman Ismail said 98,842 inspections were carried out and compounds of RM800,050 issued, with 1,355 cases and 220 arrests for various offences recorded, and 37 cases having been charged in court with fines totalling RM216,000.
“A total of 89,280.61 litres (l) of petrol worth RM193,544.83 were seized, along with 35,598 l of diesel worth RM93,679.29,” he told reporters after attending the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Christmas 2025 launch at Mydin Supermarket, Tunjong here today.
He also shared that Kelantan KPDN seized 42,562 kilogrammes (kg) of susidised cooking oil worth RM106,275.40, 6,656 kg of sugar worth RM19,127.97, 3,974.20 kg of wheat flour worth RM12,187.52 and 2,332 kg of liquified petroleum gas worth RM4,569.
Azman also shared that 32 supermarkets in the state had participated in the three-day RAHMAH MADANI Sales programme that will end this Thursday in conjunction with Christmas celebrations, and 43 supermarkets signed up for the RAHMAH MADANI Back-to-School Sales programme.
