JASIN, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- Kampung Kilang Berapi Utara here has received a development boost through the implementation of the RM1 million Kampung Angkat MADANI (MADANI Adopted Village) initiative by the Department of Mineral and Geoscience (JMG).
JMG director-general Datuk Zamri Ramli said the project encompasses six main components, including infrastructure development, basic facilities, educational empowerment, and the strengthening of social and religious aspects, all of which directly benefit local residents.
“The implementation of this project reflects the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive development through the active involvement of the community, while also strengthening cooperation between the federal government, state government and local communities,” he said.
“Through this initiative, it is expected to further enhance the well-being of rural communities in a sustainable and comprehensive manner,” he said in a statement here today.
Earlier, he officiated the symbolic handover of the project to penghulu Jezlee Pit, who represented Merlimau assemblyman Datuk Dr Muhammad Akmal Saleh.
Elaborating further, Zamri said the project’s key components include upgrading village infrastructure such as roads and drainage systems, as well as installing solar-powered street lights to enhance residents’ safety, expected to benefit about 1,700 villagers and residents of nearby housing areas.
He added that the project also involves students from Politeknik Merlimau, who are given opportunities to undergo hands-on practical training, thereby helping to enhance their skills and experience.
“In addition, basic facilities at Masjid Asy-Syuja’ah in Merlimau were upgraded, including the installation of fans and lighting, improvements to meeting and funeral management rooms, as well as the installation of teleconferencing and audio systems to support meetings, religious lectures and virtual learning.
“The MADANI Adopted Village project has also benefited the education sector, with about 500 students of Sekolah Rendah Agama Merlimau Utara and 1,000 students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Abdul Rahman Ya‘kub receiving fans and air-conditioning facilities.
He said that in conjunction with the implementation of the MADANI Adopted Village initiative, the Madrasah Al-Amin building was also repaired to replace the old structure, which was frequently affected by floods, and has since become a new landmark for the spiritual development of the local community.
