20/12/2025 05:48 PM

MELAKA, Dec 20 (Bernama) --  A total of 92 programmes targeting diverse community groups were held under the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) initiative in the Bukit Katil state constituency over nearly two weeks, from Dec 7 to today.

Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari said the programmes directly addressed issues in welfare, economic opportunities, education, healthcare, community development and social cohesion.

“WRUR has become a meeting ground between the people and the government in a more open, honest and constructive setting,” he said during the closing ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Baru here today, officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

Adly, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, said the programme showed that true development is measured not by statistics alone, but by presence, care and a genuine willingness to listen to the people.

He said Bukit Katil is a unique constituency, where two parties within the MADANI Unity Government, Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, work closely throughout the implementation of WRUR.

“This spirit of cooperation shows that political differences are no barrier to serving the people, and sets an example of maturity and unity,” he said.

He said WRUR reflects the state government’s commitment to promptly addressing public concerns through aid, incentives, economic, education, healthcare and welfare programmes.

Meanwhile, Ab Rauf said that 2,245 complaints received across 10 WRUR series statewide, 1,704, (76 per cent) have been resolved.

He said Bukit Katil recorded 255 complaints, with 66 resolved and 189 under action by relevant agencies.

“Behind these numbers lie the stories and hopes of the people, each complaint reflecting public concerns and reliance on the government’s care and efficiency in resolving grassroots issues,” he added.
