South Region 2025 KIS Campaign Empowers Over 26,000 Students

MELAKA, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- The southern region 2025 Safe Internet Campaign (KIS) 2025 has successfully empowered more than 26,000 students through the implementation of various programmes throughout the year.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in a statement, said that as of Nov 30, the campaign had been implemented in 1,478 educational institutions in Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, involving the participation of 26,617 students.

According to MCMC, the programme celebrates the success of strategic cooperation in implementing the Ministry of Communications’ national initiative through MCMC during 2025.

The Southern Region KIS initiative was made possible through the strong commitment and close collaboration of the Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan state governments, together with MCMC, the State Education Departments, District Education Offices and the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI).

At the KIS 2025 campaign at the Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka Campus here, today, MCMC highlighted several key activities, including a forum,  titled "Social Media: Current Challenges, Shared Solutions",  presentation of the KIS module for students aged 10 to 12, appointment of the K-DAT Icon, as well as an interactive zone and exhibition booths.

The programme was officiated by the Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunication Infrastructure) of the Ministry of Communications, Mano Verabathran, representing the Minister of Communications, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Also present were Melaka Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communications Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan, Melaka MCMC officer Bukhari Yahya, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan Deputy District Education Officer Sharifudin Md Salleh and MMU Melaka Campus director Prof. Dr Hishamuddin Ismail.
