KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11 (Bernama) -- Three top innovations from the United States, Ukraine, and Switzerland were recognised for their exceptional creativity and potential impact on global health at the global finals of the Go Healthy with Taiwan Call for Proposal.

They were among six outstanding teams from around the world who gathered in Taipei for the finals to present proposals addressing a wide range of pressing global challenges, from maternal health and sports technology to sustainable medical systems.

In a statement today, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said this year’s competition received 638 proposals from 55 countries, reaffirming Taiwan’s growing role as a hub for health innovation and cross-border collaboration.

The United States’ winning proposal, ‘Smart Sports Innovation”, leverages artificial intelligence (AI) for baseball motion analysis, combining Taiwan's smart apparel, sensors, and edge computing to develop a markerless biomechanics platform aimed at preventing injuries and improving performance.

Ukraine’s proposal 'Resilient Wartime Healthcare Connectivity' integrates Taiwan’s switches and Wi-Fi into the First Lviv Territorial Medical Union, maintaining uninterrupted hospital networks during war and supporting telemedicine and digital resilience.

Meanwhile, Switzerland’s submission 'Solar-Powered Medical Wearables' collaborates with Taiwanese material and equipment manufacturers to develop solar-powered wearable health monitors and cross-national supply chains.

“Each winning team received a Taiwan Excellence ‘Infinite Taiwan’ trophy and USD30,000 in prize funding,” according to the statement.

Deputy Director General of the International Trade Administration (MOEA) Susan Chi-Chuan Hu, at the award ceremony, emphasised that Go Healthy with Taiwan connects global creativity and supports the shared goal of building a healthier future.

She noted that Taiwan will continue investing in innovation and strengthening resilience and sustainability in the health sector.

In the meantime, TAITRA Executive Vice President Joe Chou highlighted Taiwan’s role as a connector linking innovators, industries and global markets.

This year’s finals were held under the theme Outstanding Proposals! Racing Toward the Finish Line! brought together leaders from government, industry, and academia, including representatives from the Taiwan Bicycle Association and the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, as well as ambassadors and foreign dignitaries.
