KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2025 conference concluded with strong momentum, drawing more than 1,500 registered delegates and reflecting rising interest in innovations shaping the future of healthcare.
KPJ Healthcare Bhd president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan said this year’s theme, “Innovating for a Healthier Sustainable Future,” marked a deliberate shift beyond traditional clinical matters to broader policy and environmental considerations.
“We were no longer focused solely on clinical topics such as Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). We also highlighted public health policies, which are critically important.
“At the same time, we discussed the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda. Healthcare can be highly energy-consuming, and we want to explore how to make it more sustainable for a healthier future,” he told Bernama in an interview at the event.
Chin said the collaboration between KPJ Healthcare and the Ministry of Health (MOH), which jointly organised the conference, demonstrated the shared responsibility of the public and private sectors in advancing the national healthcare mission.
“KPJ plays its role as a strategic partner because healthcare must be shared fairly across both public and private sectors. That is the true spirit.
“We want to contribute, complement and support this national agenda by providing a platform that brings together the best minds - locally, regionally and internationally - to debate and discuss how we can innovate and improve,” he said.
Apart from issues such as an ageing society and NCDs, Chin said the conference also spotlighted the rapid expansion of digital health solutions.
“I saw a huge difference within less than 12 months in how AI technology and digital health have advanced. We are now talking about AI-enabled doctor-patient conversations, intelligent wards and AI-powered imaging solutions,” he said.
He said such innovations were already improving operational efficiency in hospitals and would further enhance the patient experience, which remains KPJ’s top priority and reflects its ‘Care for Life’ purpose.
On the possibility of another edition next year, Chin said the group remained committed to providing a platform for intellectual exchange as digital and AI-driven solutions continue to shape the future of global healthcare.
He added that, beyond physical attendance, the conference’s digital component significantly broadened its reach, with an online platform enabling real-time participation from a wider audience.
The three-day MIH Megatrends 2025, which began on Nov 25, was organised by the MOH in strategic collaboration with KPJ Healthcare and drew healthcare professionals, policymakers and industry leaders from around the world.
