KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- In a bid to strengthen corporate governance, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has launched an Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) that meets the MS ISO 37001:2016 standard, reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency and accountability.
KTMB Chief Technical Officer Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin said the company had completed five phases of ABMS implementation, covering the awareness phase, understanding standard requirements, risk assessment and documentation, development of ABMS documentation, and audit and management review.
“KTMB also underwent an internal audit in May 2025 and subsequently achieved full ABMS certification on Oct 29, 2025. This accomplishment is in line with the government’s effort to encourage the implementation of ABMS in phases across all government agencies,” he said in a statement today.
The ABMS launch ceremony was officiated by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman, who also presented the KTMB Integrity Kit to the senior regional managers.
Ahmad Nizam said the kit served as a comprehensive guide to strengthen a culture of integrity and governance at all levels of the organisation, covering policy references, compliance guidelines and best practices in preventing corruption at KTMB.
The programme also featured an integrity forum titled “Mulia Kerana Maruah, Musnah Kerana Rasuah,” moderated by Rasuah Busters chief executive officer Nurhayati Nordin, with panel members comprising Mydin managing director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin, National Anti-Financial Crime Centre director-general Datuk Seri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil and Bukit Aman Standard Compliance Department deputy director (Religion and Counselling) Datuk Azhan Abdul Halim.
