15 UiTM Masscomm Alumni Honoured In Hall Of Fame

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknologi MARA's (UiTM) Mass Communication (MassComm) Alumni Association lauded the setting up of the ‘Hall of Fame’ by the university’s Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.

Its president Basree Rakijan said the move by the faculty to honour its prominent graduates is a recognition of their excellence, resilience, and service to the communication industry.

“They remind us that MassCommers do not just follow trends, they create them,” he said in a statement today.

A total of 15 graduates were inducted into the Hall of Fame, which was launched on Wednesday at the university in Shah Alam. 

Among them were former dean of the faculty, Prof Datuk Mohd Hamdan Adnan; former New Straits Times (NST) managing editor, Datuk Nuraina Samad; and former TV Al Hijrah chief executive officer, the late Datuk Bukhari Che Muda.

Basree said each of them carries the MassComm spirit — one of integrity, imagination, and influence. 

He said the project, undertaken jointly by the faculty, the alumni and cooperation of communication industries, hopes to inspire Mass Communication students to pursue for excellence in the fields they venture into.

“Success does not come overnight. It grows through passion, persistence, and purpose,” he said.

Basree said the alumni are committed to strengthening their network, building mentorship and supporting the faculty’s mission to develop future-ready communicators.

“We aim to make Mass Communication not just a faculty, but a lifelong family — one that continues to inspire, collaborate, and contribute back to UiTM and the nation,” he added.
