KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is committed to ensuring that the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from today until Oct 28, proceed smoothly and yield meaningful outcomes.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the summit is crucial in strengthening unity, driving regional growth, and reaffirming ASEAN’s role as a centre of stability and prosperity.

“I ask for the prayers of all Malaysians that everything goes smoothly, Insya-Allah (God willing),” he said in a Facebook post today.

Anwar attended a preparatory meeting last night as part of the final arrangements ahead of the summit, which is being held under Malaysia’s chairmanship.

The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 themed “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, is set to be one of the largest gatherings in the bloc’s history.

This year marks the fifth time Malaysia has assumed the ASEAN chairmanship since the establishment of the regional organisation in 1967.
