IPOH, July 11 (Bernama) -- To mark the Maal Hijrah 1447H celebration, the Tambun Parliamentary Community Service Centre, in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will organise an Islamic Arts Carnival and Malam Mahabbah MADANI at Masjid Jamek Al-Amin, Kampung Lata, here, on July 13.
Themed “Hijrah Membina Ummah MADANI”, the event will take place from 5.30 am to 11 pm, featuring a variety of religious, spiritual and family-friendly activities for people of all backgrounds.
The Tambun Parliamentary Community Service Centre, in a statement, said the main objective of the carnival was to strengthen ties between leaders and the people through an appreciation of the concept of hijrah in the context of spiritual, character and community development.
“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Tambun member of Parliament, fully supports the programme and has recommended that it be expanded to all primary and secondary schools in the Tambun parliamentary constituency,” the statement said today.
The programme will feature activities such as Islamic calligraphy demonstrations, the printing of the Quran, nasyid performances by renowned groups including Raihan, UNIC and Mirwana, and a nasyid competition for schools in the Tambun parliamentary constituency.
Also lined up is the Hijrah Forum, featuring PU Riz and his wife Neelofa, moderated by Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, along with the “Solat Subuh Macam Jumaat” campaign, which will include appearances by celebrities such as Nabil Ahmad, Angah Raja Lawak, Qawiyaro and Shamsul Ghau-Ghau.
The Malam Mahabbah MADANI event will also be enlivened with qasidah performances, doa recitation, selawat (chants praising Prophet Muhammad), and the presentation of donations to the needy.
The programme will also feature a range of community- and family-oriented activities, such as street soccer, arm wrestling, a charity run, a cooking contest, a kenduri rakyat, and a special appearance by Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid.
There will also be a motorcycle convoy, gotong-royong to clean cemeteries, the Jualan Rahmah programme, health screenings, exhibitions by government agencies, free haircuts and free engine oil service for visitors.
