KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Australia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, pledging closer cooperation in key areas including economic, educational, agricultural and institutional capacity-building.

According to a Facebook posting by Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry, the matter was discussed during a bilateral meeting between Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and his Australian counterpart Penny Wong on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and related meetings on Thursday.

Both sides also looked forward to the convening of the 4th Malaysia-Australia Senior Officials’ Strategic Dialogue, the 7th Malaysia-Australia Annual Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and the 3rd Malaysia-Australia Annual Leaders’ Meeting, all scheduled to take place this year.
