Free Motorcycle Oil Change At Terengganu PMR 2025

10/07/2025 07:23 PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, July 10 (Bernama) -- Visitors to the Terengganu MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 have the opportunity to get a free motorcycle oil change throughout the three-day event at Pasar Kedai Payang, which began today.

Skills Development Department senior instructor at GiatMARA Marang, Sharudden Ishak, said his team targets to provide the service to up to 200 motorcycle owners per day, depending on time and the flow of the programme.

The service, open to the public across all backgrounds, is a collaboration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ), which supplies the engine oil, while GiatMARA provides the equipment and trainees for the labour.

“We have six service stations operating simultaneously, with two trainees assigned to each station. A total of 12 trainees will be actively involved in the programme,” he told Bernama.

He said the programme not only benefits motorcycle owners but also provides hands-on training for trainees and instructors from GiatMARA automotive programmes in Marang, Hulu Terengganu and Batu Rakit.

“This gives them exposure to technical, communication and customer service skills, as well as different types of motorcycles. It’s also a platform to build entrepreneurial capabilities,” he said.

Meanwhile, JPJ’s helmet exchange programme continued to receive overwhelming response, with visitors queuing at the designated tent as early as 8 am.

JPJ’s Road Safety Division assistant enforcement officer Shamima VPK Abdulla said 3,000 SIRIM-certified helmets were allocated for distribution during the event.

“Each day, 1,000 helmets are given out in two sessions, morning and afternoon, to raise awareness on the importance of wearing standard-compliant helmets.

“SIRIM-certified helmets have undergone durability tests and can help reduce the risk of head injuries during accidents. Uncertified helmets, like half-shell or ‘turtle-style’ types, break easily and offer little protection,” she said.

The programme also features a pocket talk by JPJ on road safety, highlighting the importance of wearing quality helmets and complying with traffic laws.

The Terengganu PMR 2025 programme, which offers various public services and activities until this Saturday, is expected to attract 25,000 visitors.

Themed ‘Pembangunan MADANI, Rakyat Sejahtera’, the event is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit, in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Works and the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department.
