JOHOR BAHRU, July 5 (Bernama) -- The contractor involved in the Pasir Gudang Highway widening project has been given until tomorrow to carry out repair work on the damaged road in the area.
Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said the damaged road should be repaired with full pavement works instead of temporary patching to cover the potholes.
"After receiving numerous comments and complaints about the potholes and poorly lit conditions along the Pasir Gudang Highway, I went down to inspect the situation myself.
“It is true that certain sections of the road surface are potholed and dangerous for road users, with several poorly lit areas as well. This is happening along the stretch where the road widening project from four lanes to six lanes is underway," he said in a post on his Facebook page today.
He has also ordered that the entire project area be equipped with adequate lighting and not just 'blinkers' to improve the safety of road users.
