PAC Recalls EPF, Khazanah Witnesses Over Public Airport Management

KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 (Bernama) -- The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has recalled several witnesses from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) for proceedings related to the management of public airports.

PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said they were summoned during proceedings held on Tuesday and yesterday to provide clarification and information on several issues identified from previous sessions.

Among the witnesses present were former EPF Chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, EPF Chief Investment Officer Rohaya Yusof, Khazanah Board Member Goh Ching Yin and Khazanah Executive Director Wong Shu Hsien.

“The PAC remains committed to continuing proceedings on the management of public airports, despite Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) being fully acquired by Gateway Development Alliance (GDA) consortium, led by Khazanah Nasional, on Feb 22,” she said in a statement today.

Mas Ermieyati said the PAC began proceedings on the issue on Feb 17, with eight sessions held so far.

At the same time, she said the PAC will also continue with proceedings on the increase in health insurance premium payments, private hospital charges and their impact on public health under the Finance Ministry (MoF), Health Ministry (MoH) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) from June 17 to 19.

She said witnesses summoned include representatives from BNM, MoH, insurance companies, third party administrators, the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM) and the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
