District Officers To Evaluate Performance Of JPKK Chairmen In Perak - MB

IPOH, May 24 (Bernama) -- The performance of the 829 Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) chairmen, or village heads, in the 12 districts in Perak, whose terms will end on May 31, will be evaluated by the respective district officers to determine whether their services will be renewed or terminated.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said several criteria would be considered in the assessment, including their age and health factors as set by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).

"Each village head may serve only up to the age limit of 65. Additionally, if a village head faces serious health issues that prevent them from continuing their duties, we will need to appoint a replacement.

“We hope those reappointed will continue to drive the state’s development agenda. Those who are not appointed should not be disheartened...continue to contribute and give ideas," he said.

He said this at the “Desa Sejahtera and Sejati MADANI” award-giving ceremony, which was also attended by State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building here today.

Kampung Jaya Setia from the Kuala Kangsar district was named the winner of the 2024 Sejati MADANI Award, taking home a trophy and a prize of RM100,000 in infrastructure project allocation.

Kampung Telaga Nenas from the Manjung district was crowned the 2024 Perak Desa Sejahtera and won a trophy and RM10,000.
