Haj Pilgrims Reminded To Check Flight Schedule, Arrive On Time

12/05/2025 08:20 PM

SEPANG, May 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Haj pilgrims have been reminded to carefully check their flight schedules and arrive on time at their designated departure stations to ensure a smooth journey to the Holy Land.

Tabung Haji (TH) Haj Operations (Domestic) deputy director Mohamed Ameen Abdul Wahab stressed the importance of adhering to the reporting date, time, and location stated in the flight schedule letter to avoid any disruption.

“It’s essential to follow the details in the flight letter, which includes the date, reporting venue, and time. I urge all pilgrims to review it properly and be punctual, or even arrive a bit early, to help ease the process,” he told reporters at the TH Departure Station at the Movenpick Hotel here today.

He also advised pilgrims to maintain good health before and during the pilgrimage, as Haj demands a high level of physical endurance.

“It involves a lot of physical activity, so staying healthy is crucial. Don’t forget to bring your medications, so you're well enough to perform the rituals smoothly once you arrive,” he said.

Mohamed Ameen assured that TH personnel will be present at every stage of the journey to assist pilgrims and ensure their welfare.

So far, he said 40 flight groups with 12,030 Malaysian pilgrims have arrived in Madinah, out of a total of 31,600 pilgrims.

“There are 19,570 pilgrims remaining,  and we are ready to receive them at the Movenpick Hotel and at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport),” he said.

To facilitate the check-in and departure process, TH has activated eight state-level departure stations: Sepang (Selangor), Alor Setar (Kedah), Kota Bharu (Kelantan), Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu), Bayan Lepas (Penang), Senai (Johor), Kuching (Sarawak), and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah).

All pilgrims will later gather at Gate C17 of KLIA’s Departure Hall before boarding their flights to either Madinah or Makkah.

To streamline entry procedures into Saudi Arabia, the government is also implementing the ‘Makkah Route’ initiative, a special immigration lane that allows pilgrims to complete visa, customs, and immigration checks in advance at KLIA.
