Agro Madani sales Continues To Be choice Of Perlis Folk For Essential Goods

03/06/2024 02:58 PM

ARAU, June 3 (Bernama) -- Agro MADANI Sales, offering lower prices for essential kitchen items, continues to be the choice of the people in Perlis for purchasing fresh produce to meet their families' needs.

A visitor from Kampung Tambun Tulang, Athirah Mohamad, 30, said she came as early as 8 am to such a sale to buy fresh necessities such as chicken and vegetables because the sale location is close to her house, and she can get items at lower prices.

"I heard there is a Jualan Agro MADANI (Agro MADANI Sales) here, so I came with my children because the items are usually a bit cheaper than at the shop, and the sale location is close to home, so I don't have to go far to buy necessities," she said when met by Bernama at the sale held at Masjid Tambun Tulang here today.

Athirah, a housewife, said the sale should be further expanded, focusing on mosque areas to facilitate the movement of village residents in purchasing kitchen necessities, thereby easing the burden on those in need.

Sharing the same view, Azril Mustafa, 45, a civil servant, said Jualan Agro MADANI is seen as effective and efficient in helping to ease the burden of the people in facing the rising cost of living at present.

"This Jualan Agro MADANI should continue in the future because it makes it easier for people, especially villagers far from shops and markets, to buy essential items.

"Congratulations to the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) for organising programmes like this in focal areas such as mosques, allowing villagers to buy goods at low prices close to their homes," he said.

Meanwhile, Perlis FAMA director Mohd Anzara Azizan said that as of May 28, the Jualan Agro MADANI in the state recorded sales worth RM1,239,486 with 142 events.

"Alhamdulillah, at the beginning of this year, our plan for Jualan Agro MADANI in 2024 was 233 (sales) events, and by the end of May, we have successfully achieved around 60 percent with 142 events," he said.

Mohd Anzara said the events benefited 1,015 entrepreneurs with 25,300 users, recording savings of RM342,249.68 up to May 28.

"For June, we will hold more Jualan Agro MADANI in seven hotspot locations in Perlis to facilitate the public in obtaining essential goods at reasonable prices," he said.
