Hilf Al-fudul Concept Should Be Adopted To Resolve Global Humanitarian Issues - Mohd Na'im

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- The concept of the Hilf al-Fudul alliance, which establishes a need to ensure justice for all through collective actions should be adopted as the basis for addressing global humanitarian issues, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.

Addressing the World Muslim Consultation Summit in Istanbul, Turkiye earlier today, Mohd Na'im said the pact, which was established during the time of Prophet Muhammad to defend the weak and innocent against those more powerful, is still relevant today, especially in defending the oppressed people of Gaza. 

"As we stand united in this conference, let us channel our collective energy toward fostering a world where justice is not just an ideal but a reality for every soul inflicted by oppression and strife.

"Let us remember that our strength lies not just in our shared faith but in our shared humanity," he was quoted in a video of his speech uploaded on his Facebook page today. 

To realise the adaptation of Hilf al-Fudul in the modern world, Mohd Na'im proposed the formation of a universal humanitarian assistance fund that is accessible to all conflict-inflicted regions, an inclusive global conflict resolution framework that leverages Islamic principles of fairness and mediation as well as an international education and advocacy system to cultivate a culture of peaceful cooperation. 

"We must also form a global coalition that not only understands but upholds the principles of Hilf al-Fudul. Engaging nations from across the world to ensure comprehensive participation and support," he said.
