UKMSC ANNOUNCES REBRANDING, UNVEILS NEW CORPORATE LOGO

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- The Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Specialist Centre (UKMSC) today unveiled its new corporate logo after more than two decades of operating under the auspices of UKM Holdings Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of UKM.

Chairman of the UKM Holdings Board of Directors, Datuk Ahmad Shalimin Ahmad Shaffie said the new logo under the UKMSC brand reflects the company’s aspiration and healthcare business strategy which is more forward-looking in terms of technological innovation and the world of digitalisation.

“The launch of this logo is a rebranding for UKMSC because, among other things, we need to keep up with changes in medical technology which is a major challenge for us in providing high-quality healthcare services,” he said.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir officiated the launch of the new UKMSC logo here.

Ahmad Shalimin, also a member of UKM Board of Directors, said the increasing demand for healthcare has prompted UKMSC to establish a larger branch that will be completed in 2026.

Meanwhile, UKM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman said the number of patients at UKMSC has increased to 40,000 people a year.

He said that UKMSC, located on the seventh floor of the Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM), is a private entity supporting the management of HCTM to treat patients.

“I fully support UKMSC to have its own building to accommodate the current demand. Therefore, the launch of the new UKMSC logo is a first step towards rebranding the hospital,” he said.

Currently, UKMSC has 56 beds and 140 clinical specialists and some of the main services offered include surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology.
