RM20 E-WALLET VOUCHERS FOR FIRST 1,000 MADANI RAKYAT NORTHERN ZONE VISITORS - KPDN

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- The first 1,000 visitors stand a chance to receive e-wallet vouchers worth RM20 at the MADANI Rakyat Northern Zone programme, to be held at the Sungai Nibong Festival Ground, Penang, from May 3 to 5.

Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Research and Consumer Policy Division director, Muhamad Zikril Abdullah, stated that the initiative aims to promote the use of e-wallets among traders and consumers in the retail sector.

"We will engage several companies offering cashless e-wallet services, and encourage traders to participate and register with the respective parties to offer cashless payments to consumers.

"These strategic partners include Touch 'n Go, Maybank, and others," he said on today's "Selamat Pagi Malaysia" programme on Radio Televisyen Malaysia.

He mentioned that among the items on offer at the MADANI Rakyat sales this time are rice, cooking oil, chicken, and vegetables, with discounts from 10 to 30 percent on certain items.  

Muhamad Zikril highlighted that this programme also integrates six different ministries offering direct services and sales to the public, covering Penang, Perlis, and Kedah.

In addition to KPDN, they include the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Communications.

Previously, Project Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) executive director, Ahmad Jefry Aziz@Adan, noted that 196 services from various government ministries and agencies would be available to visitors at the MADANI Rakyat programme in the Northern Zone.

The 2024 MADANI Rakyat programme is a continuation of the MADANI government’s One Year Anniversary programme held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in December last year.

It serves as a platform for the public to have direct access to services from both federal and state government ministries and agencies, alongside an avenue for providing feedback and suggestions to enhance the quality of these services.

The Central Zone MADANI Rakyat programme, organised by the Prime Minister's Office was held from Feb 23 to 25 at the Kuala Selangor Sports Complex, covering Selangor, Perak, and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
