Perak Msmes Record Rm26 Mln Potential Export Sales In 2023

IPOH, March 26 (Bernama) -- Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) entrepreneurs in Perak achieved potential sales worth RM26.09 million through the Perak MSME Services Products and Exports Market Expansion Programme last year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the programme resulted in cash sales totalling RM881,105, involving 61 participating entrepreneurs.

He said MSMEs which have successfully penetrated international markets include Imperia Asia Sdn Bhd, Syilis Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Nab Food Industries, Jamilah Mansor Enterprise (M) Sdn Bhd, Shahrinie Food Industries, Che Din Food Industries and Royal Rendang Tok Mak Nik.

“Moving forward, the plan is to assist agricultural-based industry (IAT) entrepreneurs in Perak to increase the number of entrepreneurs with halal certification and the Food Safety is the Responsibility of the Industry (MeSTI) certification scheme through various courses and advisory services from the Perak State Agriculture Department.

“Additionally, these IAT products can be value-added in terms of quality and packaging so that Perak's IAT products can go further into the global market," he told reporters after officiating the Riang Ria Raya IAT Product Promotion and Sales Programme organised by the Perak State Agriculture Department here today.

Saarani said as of January this year, there are 529 IAT entrepreneurs registered with the Perak State Agriculture Department who are actively running their businesses.

He added that the total sales value of products last year reached RM65.52 million, with total production amounting to 16.28 tonnes.

Meanwhile, 20 entrepreneurs took part in the three-day Riang Ria Raya IAT Product Promotion and Sales Programme, aimed at helping entrepreneurs market their products such as festive cookies, crisps, rendang tok, and other products.
