BARCELONA, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- Once again, Barcelona, Spain has emerged as the focal point for over 100,000 global industry leaders, technology evangelists, and the public, to converge and witness the latest innovations in mobile connectivity at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, in Fira Gran Via, here.
Barcelona will witness hundreds of discussions, networking, forums and demonstrations for people involved in mobile technology during the four-day MWC 2024 hosted by Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA), which will kick off from Feb 26 to 29.
The largest and most influential event for the connectivity ecosystem will also gather thousands of senior executives from the top global companies, governments and technology businesses who converge to make decisions in the technology field.
According to GSMA, the event themed Future First, is shaped by six sub-themes which reflect the latest technologies such as 5G and Beyond, Connecting Everything, Humanising Artificial Intelligence (AI), Manufacturing DX, Game Changers and Our Digital DNA.
It said this year’s edition of MWC Barcelona marks 18 years of global organisation to bring the flagship event to the city of Barcelona.
GSMA also noted that two new speakers will be joining this year’s event, Co-chair of the United Nations’s AI Advisory Board, Carme Artigas and winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, Konstantin Sergeevich Novoselov.
Besides that, authentic food,entertainment spaces,cultural experiences for attendees also adds colours to the MWC 2024.
It is reported that Malaysia will establish its ‘Malaysian Pavilion’ at the MWC 2024 and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil is expected to share the country’s achievements in leading the implementation of the 5G network in his keynote address.
Malaysian speakers lined up are Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Shamsul Izhan Abdul Majid; Petronas Group Technical Solution Custodian (Head Instrument & Control), Mohd Faizal Ghazali and Multimedia University of Malaysia lecturer Dr Bahma Sivasubramaniam will also share their ideas at the global stage.
