PUTRAJAYA, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) will be involved in an engagement session with four clusters at the three-day Bumiputera Economic Congress (KEB) 2024, which will be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, from Feb 29 to March 2.
PUNB chairman Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said that the four clusters are Bumiputera enterprise competitiveness; Bumiputera socioeconomics in Sabah; Bumiputera socioeconomics in Sarawak as well as Felda and land development.
“PUNB has been given a mandate by the government to help in the big agenda to produce Bumiputera entrepreneurs, and later in the KEB, PUNB will be involved in four clusters to discuss policies and directions,” he told Bernama, after attending the PUNB's Jom Jadi Perantis (JumPER) PUNB 2023 initiative, here, today.
Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, reportedly said that 10 clusters will be established in KEB 2024, including Education Reform and Human Capital; Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions as Primary Career Choices; and Strengthening the Halal Industry.
Other clusters are Rural Development and Empowerment of Orang Asli Communities; Wealth Creation and Corporate Mastery; Bumiputera Enterprise Competitiveness; New Technology Mastery; Felda and Land Development; Bumiputera Socioeconomics in Sabah; and Bumiputera Socioeconomics in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, PUNB's Marketing and Communications head, Ahmad Nazlee Idris, said that the agency had shared various views and presented all of PUNB's progress for each cluster in the previous edition of the KEB engagement session.
“I hope all these clusters are able to contribute to a resolution which can be used as a measuring stick for the success of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the future.
"All findings will be worked on and, Insya-Allah, the secretariat, TERAJU (Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit) and MARA (Majlis Amanah Rakyat), involved in KEB 2024, will issue a resolution to be presented to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
Sharing his experience of participating in the previous KEB engagement sessions, Ahmad Nazlee said that the results of the presentation on PUNB's progress had brought positive results to the 33-year-old agency.
“Based on previous experience, the resolutions we presented were included in 12MP (12th Malaysia Plan), where PUNB has been allocated RM200 million a year,” he said.
