IPOH, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah received business tithes or zakat payments amounting to RM1,317,554 from three corporate firms on behalf of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) at Changkat Persekutuan in Kuala Lumpur today.
MAIPk said in a statement that CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, represented by CIMB Bank Berhad Wholesale Banking Group senior banking officer Zainul Bahrin Hashim, led the list with RM600,000, while Telekom Malaysia (TM), represented by TM Perak Regulatory and Engagement general manager Badrul Hisham Bahari, paid RM542,590 and THP Utara Facilities Sdn Bhd, led by chairman Datuk Syed Naqiz Shahabuddin Syed Abdul Jabbar, paid RM174,964.
Also present were MAIPk president Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini and Wan Maizura Wan Zahari, the officer assuming the duties of MAIPk chief executive officer.
