KANGAR, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- Children participating in the congregational dawn prayer at mosques in Perlis will receive RM3 per person through the 'Rezeki Subuh' programme, which runs for 40 days starting on Feb 1.
The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) in a statement today said the programme aims to encourage children under the age of 12 to attend the dawn prayer in congregation at 101 mosques throughout the state.
“MAIPs has allocated RM334,000 for the contribution of RM3 for each child who performs the Subuh prayers in congregation at 101 mosques across Perlis during the specified period" read the statement.
According to the statement the decision to organise the programme was made during the First MAIPs meeting for the Year 2024 which was held on Jan 23 at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Alam Pauh Putra Campus, Arau.
Perlis Raja Muda Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who is also MAIPs chairman officiated the launch of the programme at the conclusion of the meeting.
