KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- In conjunction with its Diamond Jubilee celebration tomorrow, Zoo Negara is offering free admission tickets for children aged 12 and below.
Zoo Negara deputy president Datuk Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana said senior citizens aged 60 and above would also enjoy the same privilege to enhance the festive atmosphere.
“Children will also receive elephant-shaped fans courtesy of Hyperack Sdn Bhd, along with Zoo Negara colouring books sponsored by Pelangi Publishing Group Berhad,” he said in a statement to Bernama today.
The Malaysian Zoological Society deputy president also said that the celebration is held to commemorate six decades of Zoo Negara’s unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation, education and public awareness of the environment.
The Zoo Negara’s 60th Anniversary celebration is expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The event, scheduled from 9 am to 12.30 pm at Dataran Dato’ Ismail Hutson, will also be attended by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
