MELAKA, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) was ranked 106th out of 1,183 higher education institutions in the recently published UI GreenMetric World University Ranking List 2023.
UTeM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Massila Kamalrudin said the ranking recognises participating universities as institutions that implement environmentally friendly policies and programmes as well as sustainable campuses.
"This achievement is prestigious and a double success for UTeM, not only in terms of ranking but also in terms of UTeM's ability to move up in the rankings.
"UTeM joined the UIGM in 2016 and was ranked 269th out of 516 universities assessed. Within seven years, UTeM has continued to improve, rising to 106th place out of 1,183 universities assessed this year," she said in a statement today.
She further said that this achievement further cements UTeM's position among the top five most sustainable and greenest universities in Malaysia.
