KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Shoppers can now experience captivating ‘instagram worthy Christmas decorations’ and discover a variety of stories offered through 'My Christmas Story' campaign at all seven physical Sunway Malls across the nation from today until Jan 1, next year.
The 'My Christmas story' campaign pays homage to storybooks and storytelling by recreating different experiences with different stories coming to life at all its malls with giant book displays in story town-themed decor.
Sunway Malls and Theme Parks chief executive officer HC Chan said the greatest joy is seeing Malaysians celebrating the festivity together and for each other as a cultural melting pot.
"Over time, we have a better understanding of each other's culture especially today with our unity government, we need to support them.
"I think this understanding will pave the way for tolerance that will lead to acceptance, unity and harmony about the people of Malaysia. Although we make up of various races, it is at the end that we belong to the same family," he said at the launch of 'My Christmas Story' at Sunway Velocity Mall, here today.
The campaign also showcases 'Threads of Tale', a 40 feet Christmas tree made out of upcycled fabric from 1.7 tonnes of unwanted fabrics donated to the group through their Kloth Cares recycling bins over a period of two months.
The Christmas tree that is placed at the main atrium of Sunway Velocity Mall, was also certified as the tallest upcycled fabric Christmas tree standing at 40 feet in the country by the Malaysia Book of Records at the same event, today.
"Sunway Malls endeavour to incorporate the use of materials or source from sustainable sources for our festive decoration. I think this year is an excellent example, for whatever we do, it's important that we align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals," he said.
Shoppers can still do their part for the ongoing fabrics-donation drive by donating recyclable fabrics to Kloth Care bins or crates at Sunway Velocity Mall and receive suprise gifts from now untill Jan 1, 2024.
