GEORGE TOWN, April 20 (Bernama) -- Ancom Crop Care Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural chemical products, has come forward to offer scholarship to a tune of RM1 million for tertiary studies to underprivileged Penang-born students.
Ancom Crop Care managing director Lee Cheun Wei said eligible applicants will receive a maximum of RM10,000 each for tuition fees throughout the duration of their programme.
"Students who have attained admission to any degree programme except medicine and dentistry in any local government or private university, may apply for the scholarship.
"University students who are currently pursuing courses in their second or third year are also eligible for the scholarship," he told reporters at the launch of the Ancom Crop Care Penang Scholarship Programme, officiated by Penang chief Chow Kon Yeow, today.
He added that students may start applying for the scholarship starting from May 15.
“We recognise that many students face significant financial hurdles to access higher education and we are proud to do our part to address this challenge," he said.
