KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Education (MOE) has implemented interim recovery measures for the database and main application system of the MOE Integrated System (MOEIS) and the Identity Management System (idMe), which experienced access disruption on Jan 15.
In a statement tonight, the ministry said that improvement actions on the database framework and application programming interface had improved access to the system, but it has not yet fully recovered.
“Monitoring and remedial actions will continue to ensure that the issue can be addressed thoroughly,” it said.
According to the statement, the disruption was due to very high user traffic, namely teachers who were carrying out their classroom assessments (PBD) online.
It further said that MOE overcame one of the issues caused by an access conflict between idMe and the MOEIS application module, both of which are single sign-on systems, on Jan 16 but detected an intermittent service disruption on Jan 19.
However, it said teachers have until March 10 to carry out their PBD activities as stipulated in the work schedule for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
“MOE understands the difficulties faced by teachers and apologises for the problem. We will ensure that access to MOE’s applications is at an excellent level,” it added.
