RMHC Malaysia paving the future for children's education

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia had allocated RM1.5 million in 2022 for the 'Back to School' packs programme distribution to about 25,000 primary school students from underprivileged families throughout the nation.

RMHC in a statement said the packs are actively being distributed in stages before the start of this year’s school session in March.

It said recently, a total of 260 children from Sekolah Kebangsaan (Felda) Pasir Besar, Gemas in Negeri Sembilan received the Back to School packs, valued at RM26,000.

In addition, the school also received a donation of RM15,000 from Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad to set up a Coding and Robotic Club under the Felda Digital Maker Hub programme, which was established to transform digital education in Felda schools. 

Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad is a foundation established by McDonald’s Malaysia Managing Director and Local Operating Partner who is also RMHC's president Datuk Azmir Jaafar, in honour of his father, with the aim to help those in need around Negeri Sembilan through beneficial initiatives that promote shared prosperity.

In the same statement, Azmir who gained his primary school education at Sekolah Kebangsaan (Felda) Pasir Besar hopes that the personal contribution via Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad could inject enthusiasm for the children and pave the way for their success in the future.

"It is my sincere wish to share sustenance with those in need and this personal contribution via Yayasan Jaafar Ahmad is a token of my appreciation to the school that has shaped me to be who I am today," he said.

The donation was handed to the school's headmaster Abdul Rahim Abdullah and witnessed by Felda's chairman Tan Sri Idris Jusoh.

Meanwhile, Idris is grateful to all Felda's children who have grown to become successful individuals and have not forgotten their roots by continuing to give back to Felda through their own initiatives.
