KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) continues with its efforts to ensure excellent results for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students by organising a two-day “Jejak Cemerelang” programme at Menara Pernas early this month.
Pernas in a statement today said that the programme, which entered its sixth year, was held last Dec 6 and 7 and involved the participation of 150 Form Five students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Pantai, Kampung Kerinchi here.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Pernas EXCO Committee chairman Datuk Abu Bakar As-Sidek Mohd Sidek and the school principal, Faridah Akhma Zulkifli.
According to Pernas, the programme aimed to give exposure to students on the correct technique of answering examination questions, in addition to sharing tips on how to obtain excellent results in core subjects of English, Mathematics, Malay, History and Islamic Education..
Under the programme, experienced teachers from five schools in the Klang Valley are specially brought in to help students strengthen their mastery in the five subjects, it said, adding that Ustaz Don Daniyal, a famous motivational speaker, was also present to give a talk to the students.
It said since the programme was implemented in 2015, there had been a consistent increase in the Average School Grade (GPS), which is the overall annual achievement of the school involving all subjects.
"For the record, for the programme organised in January 2022, at least 83 per cent of SPM graduates, or 125 out of 150 students, who attended the programme were able to continue their studies in various fields and skills at universities and colleges," it said.
Meanwhile, Abu Bakar, in his speech, told students involved in the programme to take the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge to prepare themselves for the SPM examination.
The Jejak Cemerlang Programme is one of Pernas' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives based on entrepreneurship, education and welfare held this year, apart from the Bakul Reziki Programme and the Franchise Entrepreneur Club (KUF) programme.
