SHAH ALAM, Nov 12 (Bernama) -- Istana Bukit Kayangan has become the first state palace in the country to obtain a fire certificate.
The certificate was presented by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director-general, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hamdan Wahid, to the Sultan of Selangor's private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani.
Selangor JBPM, in a statement, said that its director, Norazam Khamis, praised the efforts of the Selangor government and the palace’s intention in taking steps to improve fire safety at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam.
Also at the same ceremony, JBPM awarded the honourary ranks as a mark of respect and recognition to individuals who showed excellent performance and devotion in providing the best service to the community, especially in Selangor.
Mohamad Munir and Selangor Council of the Royal Court secretary, Hanafisah Jais, were awarded the rank of Deputy Fire Commissioner (Honourary), while the rank of Senior Assistant Fire Commissioner (Honourary) was given to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Foundation chairman’s private secretary, Baba Jace @ Fong Jia Jin.
