IPOH, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali leads a list of 212 recipients of awards, and medals in conjunction with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah’s 66th birthday today.
Mohd Zuki, 60, who was appointed as the 15th Chief Secretary to the Government on Jan 1, 2020, has received the 'Dato' Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini' (DPCM) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.
Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja, Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said Sultan Nazrin is also pleased to confer the Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri Panglima’ to Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain@Abd Rasid.
He said the Sultan has bestowed the Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM) award, which carries the ‘Datuk’ title to Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak.
Mohd Zahidi said the Ruler of Perak has bestowed the Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk’, to 15 recipients, including Kumpulan Media Karangkraf chairman of the board of directors Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub and Perak Chief Syariah Judge Abdul Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor.
Sultan Nazrin has also bestowed the ‘Dato' Pahlawan Taming Sari’ (DPTS) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk Pahlawan’ to five recipients, including Perak Special Branch chief Shazeli Kahar and Inspector General of the Malaysian Armed Forces Rear Admiral Abd. Halim Shaari.
Apart from that, a total of seven individuals have received the Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM) award, 23 individuals the Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) award, Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM) award (16), Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) (45), Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) (47), Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (41), and Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP) (10).
According to him, the number of recipients this year is limited and only those who are truly qualified and meet the set criteria have been consented by the Sultan of Perak to be conferred the awards and medals.
"People are called upon to celebrate together and enliven the birthday celebration of the Sultan of Perak by hoisting the state flag in their respective office buildings, businesses and homes.
“The investiture ceremony will take place on a date to be determined by the Sultan of Perak," he said.
Mohd Zahidi said this year’s celebrations will begin with a thanksgiving ceremony, which is the recitation of Surah Yassin, Tahlil and Doa Selamat, at Ubudiah Mosque, Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar during Friday prayers today.
Similar events will also be held at all district mosques across the state led by Orang Besar Jajahan and district officers for their respective districts.
