KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- The Keluarga Malaysia Cheap Sales (Jualan Murah Keluarga Malaysia (JMKM) programme launched nationwide in mid-August has, so far, generated total sales of over RM25.80 million.
Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk Rosol Wahid said the initiative, involving five ministries, had also recorded 1.04 million visitors to date.
“All the parties involved have carried out the programme well. The ministries have also fully implemented the programme which enables the people, especially those from the B40 group, to purchase necessities at cheaper prices,” he told reporters after inspecting the JMKM programme at IQI Mart in Kampung Beladau Kepong here today.
JMKM is a rebranding of the Malaysian Family Sales Programme (PJKM). The PJKM was previously fully implemented by the ministry with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI).
The implementation of the JMKM involves the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP); MAFI; Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and the Federal Territories Ministry.
