KOTA BHARU, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) continues to reach out to the community through the ‘Jom Kenali Bernama’ campaign booth at the fourth edition of the Kembara Riuh Keluarga Malaysia (KRKM) 'RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’ here.
Bernama Corporate Strategy head, Mariati Mohd Arif, said this was a continuation of the news agency’s involvement in the Keluarga Malaysia Aspiration (AKM) Tour and other programmes organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry.
“This booth is our initiative to reach out to the community, especially the younger generation, and the campaign will run until the end of this year.
“It also aims to introduce our products and services to the public, in addition to highlighting Bernama’s brand and identity as a reliable news source,” she said when met at the Ketereh District Council Mini Stadium here today.
Apart from being the news source for other media organisations, Bernama has been operating since 1967 and had just celebrated its 55th anniversary in May, she added.
Mariati said the campaign also aims to improve the ratings of Bernama, Bernama TV and Bernama Radio applications and make the bernama.com website the primary reference for news.
During the RIUH SOKMO! programme, Bernama TV will also conduct live or recorded interviews with entrepreneurs from the small and medium industries in Bernama programmes.
She added that visitors to the booth would be able to meet with Bernama’s TikTok icons and participate in quizzes about the news agency and contests to win exciting prizes.
In conjunction with the KRKM programme, Bernama will also organise a corporate social responsibility programme, ‘Kasih@Bernama’, in Kampung Pasir Golok, Ketereh at noon tomorrow.
She said the programme is expected to gather 500 local residents through a ‘bekwoh’ grand feast, while 100 eligible residents will receive the MyTV decoders and 50 people will receive RM100 vouchers from Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad.
