KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Thailand through the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) Malaysia is participating in the 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2022) which started yesterday to boost Thailand's Halal trade and contribute to the global Halal Industry.

DITP in a statement said the Thailand Pavilion will showcase more than 40 brands of Thailand's Halal products from food and non-food sectors such as modest fashion, art and craft, health and beauty, gifts and home decoration items at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

“The crowd applauded when our models dressed in the latest designer fashion brands took to the catwalk. The brands at the showcase include Mirah, SHU, Siri Dress House, SC Grand: Circular, De Quarr Community, and Gemio,” DITP said in a statement.

According to the statement, visitors will be able to experience exciting activities such as product presentation and auction (for merit purposes), live cooking shows by Thailand's celebrity chef, Chef Tosapol from Bangkok, food tasting, as well as exploring business opportunities within Thailand's booth namely ‘Thailand Pavilion’.

“Subsequently, we expect that the participation in this event will help in increasing the image of Halal Thai products not only in Malaysia, but also in the global market as well as boost the demand to import these potential products from Thailand in the near future,” said the statement.

MIHAS is a robust marketplace for both international and local players to seize business opportunities with this year’s theme “Ethical Consumption”.
