PASIR PUTEH, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Kelantan will continue to preserve relics related to the country’s independence and the second world war found in the state, says State Culture, Tourism and Heritage Committee chairman Major (Rtd) Datuk Md Anizam Ab Rahman.
He said the committee had identified several locations around the state for the purpose, such as the fort built by the British army in Kuala Gel, Bachok.
"We are also looking to turn these places into new tourist attractions.
"We will restore these historic sites with the cooperation of the state Museum Department," he told reporters after inaugurating the Arts and Culture Month at the Pasir Puteh Parliamentary constituency-level here today.
Pasir Puteh MP Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh was also present.
Meanwhile, Nik Muhammad Zawawi said various artistic and cultural events would be held in each state constituency in Pasir Puteh throughout the month.
"Through this programme, we hope to be able to unite all the races and religions, people young and old," he said.
