Star Rating of Important Targets awarded to 15 govt, private sector agencies

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 11 (Bernama) -- A total of 15 government and private sector agencies received the Star Rating of Important Targets for 2021, presented by Deputy Home Minister II Datuk Jonathan Yasin in a ceremony here tonight.

Jonathan said the appreciation and recognition were very significant to the Important Target installations which had demonstrated excellent safety management performance during the assessment of the Important Targets Star Rating Award (APBSP) carried out for 2021.

He said the Central Committee of Important Targets (JPSP) had used the APBSP method in providing recognition to the Important Target installations that have shown excellent work performance in protective security management.

Also present at the award ceremony were Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (security) Datuk Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman and Government Security director-general Rahimi Ismail.

The Sultan Azlan Shah Power Station, Manjung, Perak; Petronas Chemicals Fertiliser, Kedah; Santong Gas Processing Plant, Terengganu; Perlis Power Plant (Global E-Technic Sdn Bhd) Perlis; Bank Negara Kuala Lumpur; Bank Negara Recovery Centre, Selangor and Labuan Crude Oil Terminal in Labuan were among the recipients.

Senai International Airport, Johor; Petronas Refinery (Melaka) Sdn Bhd, Melaka; Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas (MLNG) Bintulu, Sarawak; BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd, Pahang; Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Sabah; Sultan Ismail Petra Pergau Electric Power Station, Kelantan; Tuanku Ja'afar Power Station Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan and Bayan Lepas International Airport, Penang were also celebrated during the event.

Important targets refer to installations producing important products or services of which their destruction or damage will cause huge losses to the economy and national defence or affect the functioning of the government and the image of the country.
