SEREMBAN, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan government, through the state Public Works Department (PWD), has identified a location near the intersection from Jalan Pantai to the new Jalan Temiang - Pantai route that is suitable for use as a parking area.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that it is privately owned land with an area of 0.7 hectares.
“At the same time, the state government will identify other suitable places for a similar purpose.
“The scenic location in question is most popular with cycling enthusiasts, motor vehicles and the public to take pictures, dubbed as the 'New Zealand Malaysia' area, and we are aware of many problems such as traffic disruption occurred there,” he said at the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.
He said this in his reply to a question from Ng Chin Tsai (PH-Temiang) who wanted to know the extent of the state government's proposal to build a parking bay or stop area along Jalan Temiang-Pantai.
In the meantime, Aminuddin said the state PWD will also make a new application for additional street lights in the area under the Peninsular Malaysia Federal Road Safety programme in the upcoming rolling plan.
